Three weeks ago already! I trust you have all recovered and have happy memories of the event. Certainly the general comment on the Sunday was ‘best yet’ which throws down the gauntlet and gives the organisers a problem for next year!!
I thought you may like an update on how your sponsorship is going. As always you have put a great deal of effort into raising money to support Macmillan’s activities and I can’t thank you enough. The value of going that extra mile and getting Gift Aid forms signed (correctly!!) and getting sponsors on Justgiving pages to sign up for Gift Aid is obvious – it has reached £10,000 so far and to get that out of the Government these days is some achievement.
Your total is looking very promising and remembering that for the past 3 years we have been over £100K it is looking very promising once again. Going by your Justgiving pages there is still another £10K to come in to me from your offline holdings and there are 19 teams who have yet to make the £600 mark.
At the other end of the scale 13 of you have gone over the £2000 mark which is a fantastic effort and much appreciated.
To save lots of fruitless dial ups the application form will NOT go on the website on April 1st for those of you that were sure it would! We thought it better to get Easter over so the postman (Dave – team 36!!) doesn’t get too much weight in his postbag along with all the Easter cards, and the kids back to school so it will be later in the month!!!!
Thank you all most sincerely for all the effort you have put into making this year’s event a great success for Macmillan. Enjoy your Easter. Cheers - Peter
